Developing Balance through Spirit-Centered Gardening
1 CE Credit - $20
Instructors: Dr. Roger L Beck, PhD and Leena Banerjee Brown, PhD
Course Description
This course will help you discover new depths of awareness and experience of human-nature harmony through the cultivation of gardens/farms. Such cultivation can range in scale from one-pot to a garden plot to small, medium or large farms. The course provides in-depth experiential evidence, reflective narrative and instruction in spirit-centered gardening/farming to illustrate the balance, health, well-being and harmony that is achievable through spirit-centered farming. In particular, such things as the progressive deepening of gratitude for nature and conscientiousness toward it as well as toward the quality of food intake are illustrated. The resources of the America Association of Horticultural Therapy, AHTA are also provided. The AHTA offers peer-reviewed journal publications to guide interventions in the garden and documents positive outcomes for cognitive, socio-emotional and physical functioning with diverse populations. This course is the third course in the Spirit-centeredness series. It invites listeners to engage with nature and the cultivation of nature to deepen connection and relationship with the true self, empathic connection with others, and with nature herself. It offers a natural path to serenity and thriving together.
